Boonsboro Ambulance & Rescue Services, Inc.

About Us

The Boonsboro Ambulance & Rescue Service is a combination (volunteer and career) independent non-profit corporation located in Washington County, Maryland.

Ambulance service in the Boonsboro area was initially provided by the Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro until 1954 when the Boonsboro Ambulance Club was established as an auxiliary to the fire department. Service was provided through the fire department until 1982 when members of the ambulance club separated from the fire department and chartered the current organization.

In 1984 the company moved into our present quarters on Old National Pike and has continued to grow ever since. In 2016 our company handled 1207 calls for service. The makeup of the area we serve is diverse and changing, from historic civil war towns to new home developments to 3 large state prison institutions. The area we serve continues to grow with more residential development planned in the near future. Our members have consistently adapted to the changes in medical care requirements, rescue technologies and increased call volume through constant training and equipment upgrades.

Today, as it has been since the beginning of the company, our mission is to provide the highest quality emergency medical and rescue services possible to the citizens we serve.
