Rescue Squad 69

Rescue Squad 69 is a 2002 Pierce Dash HDR. RS69 has a primary coverage area of 96 square miles of Southeastern Washington County MD. We provide assistance to Boonsboro Fire, Sharpsburg Fire, Potomac Valley Fire and Mt. Aetna Fire Companies as well as Sharpsburg EMS. The equipment carried includes Hurst hydraulic rescue tools, Vetter S-tech airbags, Paratech struts and numerous other rescue and firefighting tools. RS69 is also equipped as a BLS First Responder Unit through the MIEMSS Voluntary Ambulance Inspection Program.

Ambulances

Our fleet consists of 3 ambulances. Each ambulance is ALS equipped to meet Washington County and State of Maryland standards. They are each equipped with Lifepak 15 Cardiac Monitor/Defibrillators, CPAP, Scott Airpacks and other life saving equipment.

Ambulance 69-1 is a 2017 International 4300/Horton

Ambulance 69-2 is a 2019 Ford F550 4×4/Horton

Ambulance 69-3 is a 1998 Ford E450/Horton

ATV 69

ATV 69 is a 2006 Polaris Ranger 6×6 EFI. The unit is equipped with a Crash Rescue Systems patient transport module. ATV 69 was provided through a grant from the US Smokeless Corporation. It is intended to be used to extract ill and injured patients from remote locations such as the Appalachian Trail, C&O Canal and other inaccessible locations. ATV69 is also used to assist area fire departments with mountain fire operations and EMS companies with providing medical coverage for large scale events.

Support Vehicles

Support 690 is a 2005 Ford Explorer is equipped as a BLS First Responder Unit through the MIEMSS Voluntary Ambulance Inspection Program.  It is used as a first responder unit or chase unit to get additional personnel to incident scenes.
